The Cookies and Cream Craft Christmas Club 2012
I’m so excited! Starting July 1st, Cookies and Cream Craft will be holding its second Christmas Club!
The club will run for 5 months – July to November 2012
Each month you will receive an exclusive paper pattern designed especially for you by one of our wonderful Aussie designers, along with a special gift, and a bit more.
Both pattern and gift will be a surprise until the postman visits you. It WILL BE just like Christmas! Ok, I’ll give you just a few hints …. there will be a table runner, a cushion, a felt item, and …. the rest is a mystery. *grin* All wonderful things to make for your home, or someone else’s, for Christmas.
Who are the designers, you ask? Well, let’s see … Gail Pan of Gail Pan Designs, Michelle Ridgway of Rag-Tag Stitchn’, Lenora Jenkins of Lenora Jenkins Designs, Lisa Cantlay of Fig n Berry Creations, and Natalie Ross In Stitches!
The cost for Australian residents will be $22 a month which includes postage, and for overseas participants it will be $28 a month which includes postage. You can pay for all 5 months up front if you’d like, (and that would be just wonderful) or I will send you a Pay Pal invoice each month. By signing up for The Cookies and Cream Craft Christmas Club 2012 you are committing to the entire 5 months. If you do prefer to pay via Credit Card, let me know and I’ll phone you for your details.

The Gunnedah Show was this weekend, and I entered a few things. The bag I made in December for my baby lap top received 1st Place. It’s from Janelle Wind’s book, Pieces of Me. And my fabric basket, again from Janelle’s book (I’ve made heaps of items from that book!) received 2nd Place. I really enjoy entering things at the Show…I encourage you, as your local Show is coming up, to gather up some of the things you’ve made, to enter them. *grin*

I had a wonderful day in Nundle yesterday at the annual Girls Day Out in the Country with Kerry Swain and Sue Daley. Kerry does such a fantastic job at organising these weekends. Thanks, Kerry!
I didn’t take many photos this year…too busy having fun learning to do more paper piecing shapes. I’m a slow worker but did manage to get some clam shells done for a wonderful Clamshell Sewing Keep, and did a few of the six-pointed star shapes for another project. You can see what little I got done below. Some ladies were just soooo fast at it! I’m looking forward to working more on my clam shells soon. *grin* OH, and I won some great fabric, too. One of my favourite colours!
As a result of finding a new favourite thing to do, I’ll be carrying more paper piecing shapes, patterns and kits in the shop. I do also carry Sue’s new book, “New English Paper Piecing A Faster Approach to a Traditional Favourite by Sue Daley“, which in fact I need to order more of. *grin* Available will be separate packs of paper pieces and templates for each quilt in the book. You can choose your favourite.
Ok, I’d best keep going. I’m hoping that the new website will be up and running in the next couple of weeks! Lots of work. I haven’t been adding any new products at the moment, because of that. And I have HEAPS of new products for you. So if you are interested in any of the paper-piecing packs that go with Sue’s new book, just let me know. *grin*

Welcome to the first UFO Thursday of 2012!
For lots of reasons, as you know, I haven’t been sewing or stitching this year. I’m feeling the urge though! So instead of a “sewing” UFO, I came up with another brilliant idea for UFO Thursday. *grin* Let’s get out all our gadgets, did you know I love gadgets, that we’ve bought at Craft Shows and Workshops, which we haven’t used and see how many we can find. It’s usually the case of looking for something else and coming across one of those gadgets exclaiming, “Oh, I forgot I bought that!” I have quite a few actually! How about you?
So today’s UFO Gadget is an Automatic Spool Knitter – Embellish-Knit. I bought this at the Sydney Craft Show 4 or 5 years ago. I came across it the end of last year and thought I’d give it a go. So I used the yarn that came with it and made a lovely cord. It was quite fun, after I got the hang of it, and what a nifty gadget, I thought. Then…what do I do with the cord? I had a look on the internet – where else – and found instructions for Celtic Knots, etc. I even looked on You-Tube. But I couldn’t get my fingers to form any sort a pretty knot. So I gave up in the end. Maybe I’ll pick it up in another few years and try again. *grin*
Now, don’t tell me you don’t have some gadget forgotten somewhere, which you bought with grand ideas of creativity, only to have it buried in a box or drawer. Dig one out and share it with us. *grin*
